Three-Eight Charlie about Jerrie Mock - The Screenplay is the script about Jerrie Mock by Dan Pimentel for the feature film Three-eight Charlie about the life of Jerrie Mock who flew Three-eight Charlie with Jerrie Mock inside
|
On March 19th, 1964, Jerrie Mock, a 38-year-old mother of three, jumped in the family Cessna 180 and departed Port Columbus (OH) Airport. Just over 23,000 miles later, after nearly a month of facing backwards third-world cultures, mechanical problems and dangerous weather, she arrived back in Columbus to BECOME THE FIRST WOMAN TO FLY SOLO AROUND THE WORLD. She had completed the mission Amelia Earhart was attempting when Earhart went missing near Howland Island.
Jerrie Mock is one of America's most important living female aviation pioneers. Her historic flight has been hiding under the radar for 44 years, but that is all about to change. Through an agreement with Jerrie herself, I was chosen as the first screenwriter ever to craft her exciting life story into a feature film script. My original screenplay Three-Eight Charlie is the result of that agreement.
The movie rights to this fascinating tale of adventure have never been released...until now.
